英國的獎學金大致分為三類:英國政府獎學金、英國院校獎學金和其他類型獎學金(助學金)，這里每類獎學金我們都舉例說明一下：
第一大類政府獎學金
英國志奮領獎學金British Chevening Scholarships
英國外交和聯邦事務部(FCO) 及其合作伙伴或贊助商聯合出資，有兩種類型的獎學金：第一種是Chevening Fellowships ，Chevening Fellowships是提供給已經在職業生涯中達到了影響位置專業人士，并希望通過量身定制的短期課程，在英國高校，以增加他們的知識，社交和潛力；第二種是普通大學生可以申請的Chevening Scholarships:
該獎學金金融包括以下費用和開銷：
? university tuition fees (please note that there is a fee cap applied to MBA programmes which requires applicants to cover any additional cost over ￡18,000)
? a monthly stipend
? travel costs to and from the UK
? an arrival allowance
? a homeward departure allowance
? a thesis grant
? a grant for study materials
? a study travel allowance
? the cost of one visa application
? a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK

申請該獎學金，申請者必須具備以下條件：
? Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.
? Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended
? Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK
? Have at least two years’ work experience
? Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 14 July 2016
? Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 14 July 2016

蘇格蘭“蘭十字獎學金”（Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships，SSS）
是一個由蘇格蘭政府和蘇格蘭高等教育機構聯合提供資金支持的大型獎學金計劃。該計劃提供近200個名額，每單獎學金價值2000英鎊。獎學金主要用來支付在蘇格蘭任何一家高等教育機構攻讀本科、碩士和博士學位學生一年的學費。
獎學金的設立旨在突出蘇格蘭是一個學習型和科技型的地區，因此該計劃針對的重點領域包括創意產業、生命科學、科技、金融服務以及可再生和清潔能源。

以下是具體的申請要求：
? Have a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course before an application can be considered.
? Be a citizen of Canada, India, USA or the People's Republic of China (Hong Kong also being eligible as it is a Special Administrative Region of China).
? Be able to demonstrate that they can meet the costs of living in Scotland and the remaining tuition fees.
? Complete an application form and submit it to their selected institution by the closing date of 31 March 2015.
? Not have previously studied for a full undergraduate degree in Scotland.
? Not have previously received a Saltire Scholarship.
Eligible courses:
? The course must be an undergraduate, Masters or PhD level course in one of the following broad subject areas: Science, technology, creative industries, financial services, renewable and clean energy.
? Courses must be full time and delivered in Scotland. Online, distance learning or courses delivered at a Scottish university campus overseas are not eligible for the scholarship.

這里介紹一下以下三種英國大學的獎學金
第一種稱之為subject-specific scholarships，也就是針對某些科目開設的獎學金項目，大家可以通過網站查詢學生所學轉專業在哪些大學有提供獎學金，
第二種是sports scholarships to support talented student athletes.有體育強項的學生有資格申請該類獎學金，
第三種就是專門針對中國學生設立的獎學金。
在學校international 網頁China Scholarships available to international students are also listed on country pages found on the International Students website.
至于何時申請獎學金，我們可以了解到絕大部分獎學金是在拿到offer后才可以申請；部分院校在填寫課程申請表時即可選填是否申請獎學金，這種情況，我們建議學生在申請課程時即填寫相關內容，因為英國獎學金申請和課程申請一樣，遵循早到早得的原則，在這之前按照該文章前面的內容了解好各項獎學金的特點。
填寫申請表，需要填寫類似PS的內容，比如為什么你覺得你有資格申請這個獎學金，有的甚至需要提交專業相關的論文。
另外部分院校提供family discount，即之前有家庭成員在該大學完成學業的話，可以獲得一定折扣。
第三類其他類別的就是一些中國機構開設的給赴英留學的學生設立的獎學金項目，比如中國國家留學基金管理委員會等等。
